Design considerations
Universal design and passive solar design are established design approaches that are ERE-compatible.
Some conventional house systems may be unnecessary for an ERE dwelling, e.g. a garage or air conditioning unit. However, an ERE house might benefit from unusual or anachronistic features such as a root cellar, canning area, greenhouse, or workshop.
